WordPress started in 2003 as a blogging platform and made a phenomenal transition to an excellent CMS that now powers 43% of all websites, according to the latest statistics provided by W3Techs. But like all software, things occasionally go wrong, and things need fixing. Google blacklists 70,000 websites due to security issues every week, and according to a report by Sucuri, 61% of infected WordPress websites were out-of-date and not patched to reported vulnerabilities.
