Project Updates

@milana_cap shares the status of docs regarding WordPress 6.0

last week we had RC1 out, all Dev Notes and Field Guide are published
we’re moving on to updating end user and dev docs – anyone wants to help just ping me

@juanmaguitar asked about a list of Projects related to Docs

The list is here but it’s probably a bit outdated

@milana_cap shares that besides 6.0 she has created two new projects in the Docs repo:

“Too technical” Handbook – https://github.com/WordPress/Documentation-Issue-Tracker/projects/4
Migrate pages from Codex to Common APIs – https://github.com/WordPress/Documentation-Issue-Tracker/projects/5

@femkreations shares:

she completed triaging the google doc and created trackers for 6.0 end-user documentation,
she reviewed the google doc with help of @milana_cap on a video call and @bph (async) for clarifications.
she also reviewed the WP 6.0 release candidate post and About Page (draft)  for the HelpHub updates required and updated the trackers.

@milana_cap shares she’s working on getting more people making code examples for code reference

Open Floor

@milana_cap shares there will be Contributor Day on Friday, organised by Yoast

It will probably going to be focused on 6.0 work
work , depends on possibility to have it somewhere available for everyone to log in and make screenshots

@juanmaguitar asked about specific projects for developer related documentation

these two for now:

https://github.com/WordPress/Documentation-Issue-Tracker/projects/5
https://github.com/WordPress/Documentation-Issue-Tracker/projects/4

but there is a lot of work on dev docs that are still not made a project because there’s not enough people to manage it

@milana_cap shares there another thing that might be done at Yoast’s Contributor Day → linking to courses and lessons from learn.wordpress.org

@courane01 shares this could be a sitemap https://learn.wordpress.org/pathways-to-learn-wordpress/
