Senior WordPress Developer

As a member of our development team, you will play a key role in helping to develop enterprise-level WordPress solutions, supporting large user-base installations with complex business rules – projects ranging from international portals to large scale distribution modules, used by the generic community.

As a Senior WordPress Developer, you will support the team in their continued learning and development, through sharing experiences, presenting on topics, and mentoring specific skills. Alongside this, you will also be responsible for leading architectural decisions and choosing approaches to ensure the team delivers high quality software.

You will have the opportunity to grow your skill set within the WordPress ecosystem, as well as the potential to broaden your outlook to other server-side frameworks, and front-end technologies.
Role Overview:

Primary Objective: Develop enterprise-level WordPress solutions to support large user-base installations and complex business rules.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop new WordPress functionality, configure installations, and select plugins.
Troubleshoot, investigate, and fix issues within the WordPress environment.
Lead code reviews and pair programming activities.
Participate in project, sprint, and client meetings.
Provide guidance and support within the team, acting as a mentor and coach.
Lead architectural decisions to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Technical Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in WordPress or PHP development.
Specific Skills:
Strong understanding of modern object oriented PHP and web performance optimization.
Proficiency in creating unit-tested solutions and following clean coding practices (e.g., SOLID principles).
Experience with enterprise-scale WordPress solutions and CI/CD practices.
Proved Worked with WORDPRESS REST APIs to introduce new endpoints for registering new custom post types and fields

Additional Qualifications:

Supporting Technologies:
Familiarity with technologies like Elasticsearch or Varnish.
Experience with CI/CD Tools: Familiarity with tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, for setting up pipelines.
Knowledge of Trunk-Based Development: Understanding of how to work in a high-collaboration, fast-paced environment where changes are frequently merged to the main branch.
Scripting and Automation: Ability to write and maintain scripts that automate testing, building, and deployment processes
Scripting and Automation: Since the migration strategy involves a Kubernetes cluster, experience with container orchestration is crucial

Personal Skills:
Ability to lead and make decisions.
Strong communication skills for mentoring and presentations.
Passion for continuous improvement and learning within the WordPress ecosystem.
